StampCam ("the app", "we") is a watermark camera. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app collects, uses, and stores. By using the app, you confirm that you have read and agree to this policy.
1. Information we process
1.1 Captured media
Photos, videos, and video audio you capture are used on your device to preview, overlay watermarks, encode anti-counterfeit data, and—after you confirm—save to your library or send through the system share sheet. We do not upload your photos or videos to our own servers.
1.2 Location
If you grant location access while using the app, we read GPS so the visible watermark can show a landmark, address, coordinates, and altitude, and so a hidden watermark can be encoded. You can turn location off in system settings; related fields will then show as unavailable.
1.3 Photo library
If you grant photo library access, the app can read photos or videos you pick (for example to apply a watermark or verify authenticity) and write finished work to your library. We do not bulk-upload your library without your action.
1.4 Microphone
Used only when you record video, to capture accompanying audio. Still photos do not use the microphone.
1.5 Local preferences
Language, aspect ratio, watermark style, and similar choices are stored on device so the app can remember them.
2. Third-party services (only when a feature needs them)
To fill place and weather on the watermark, the app may send coordinates—not your photo or video files—to:
- the system geocoder (Apple / Google), to turn coordinates into an address and place name;
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim, as a fallback reverse-geocoder;
- Amap Open Platform (if a service key is configured in the app), for reverse geocoding and nearby landmarks;
- Open-Meteo, for weather at those coordinates.
Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. Requests include only what is needed for the feature (coordinates and language preference).
3. Visible and hidden watermarks
The visible watermark is the template and text you see in preview (time, place, weather, and so on). It is composited into the photo or video you save.
The hidden (dark) watermark is an anti-counterfeit code written into pixels (for example a summary of capture time and location). It is hard to see with the naked eye and is encoded on device. You or others can check a saved file in Settings → Verify authenticity. A hidden watermark may not survive cropping, heavy compression, or further editing, and it is not a legal expert opinion.
4. How we use information
We use the information above only to provide watermark capture and saving, place and weather on the stamp, anti-counterfeit encoding and verification, and to remember app settings. We do not sell your personal information and do not use your photos or videos for advertising.
5. What we do not provide
- The app has no account or sign-in.
- The app does not currently offer our own cloud sync or cloud album.
- We do not collect payment card details. If purchases are added later through the app stores, Apple or Google handle the transaction.
6. Storage and retention
Files you save stay in your device library or go to apps you pick in the system share sheet. We do not keep your media on our servers. Uninstalling the app clears local preferences; photos and videos already in your library remain under your control.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
You can revoke camera, microphone, location, or photo library access in system settings; some features will stop working. You can delete files the app saved to your library at any time.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be noted in the app or in store release notes.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent through the StampCam developer support channel on the App Store or Google Play.
